Undergraduates join the lab through a formal training program offered in the Fall and Winter quarters.
\nUndergraduate training in sex differences research. <\/strong>PhD student Rachel Scott designed a two-quarter program that collaboratively trains undergraduates in foundational literature and experimental approaches. The course trains and places students in one of FIVE labs at UCLA doing research related to Sex Differences in Metabolism<\/a>. In the first quarter, students read and discuss primary research articles. \u00a0At the end of the first quarter, a subset of students are selected to join individual projects in one of five labs (Arnold<\/a>, Correa, Hevener<\/a>, Lusis<\/a>, Reue<\/a>, van Veen<\/a>) and continue in the program. In the second quarter, students learn techniques that will be relevant to their laboratory research.<\/p>\n

We are offering this undergraduate research program in Fall 2026<\/span>. <\/strong><\/em>Interested undergraduates should email a single PDF<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0with the following three components to correametabolismlab at gmail<\/span>. Applications or inquiries to sent to Dr. Correa directly will not be considered. The deadline for applications is August 20, 2026<\/span>.<\/strong> We will notify accepted students by September 15, 2026 and find the best time to meet.<\/p>\n
