Travel Funding
Division of Graduate Education Doctoral Travel Grants (DTG)
The purpose of the Doctoral Travel Grant (DTG) is to encourage eligible UCLA doctoral students to present their work and network at conferences in their field, to support travel associated with off-campus research and to enable students to take advantage of off-campus professional development opportunities
MBIDP Funding
Criteria for funding:
- Student’s compliance with time-to-degree and participation requirements. Students who have advanced to candidacy but are not up-to-date on program participation requirements are ineligible for conference travel funding.
- Student has submitted their travel request within the required time frame for conference travel (one month prior to the quarter conference travel will be in). Reimbursement will occur after travel and documentation must be submitted within 30 days of completion of travel.
- For students without award funding (e.g. Whitcome, Gilliam, etc), the MBIDP may provide up to $500 per student for eligible conference-related travel expenses. Cost-sharing is essential. This can be from the student’s mentor or other funding source (e.g. graduate division funding, training grant, individual fellowship, conference organizers). We encourage you to request the support of the meeting organizers. Occasionally, there is conference participant funding available for specific groups.
